Qualifications

What your students
can earn

Robocode is an accredited centre for BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT. A student learning through your centre sits the same qualification, marked to the same standard, and it says the same thing on the certificate. No UK residency, no travel.

Examinations cost £100 per student and are available from the Growth tier upward. The Starter tier does not include BCS access, which is the main reason most partners begin at Growth.

Examinations are sat in English. The course itself can be taught in Arabic where you have taken the localisation package, but the assessment is in English. It is worth setting your entry requirements with that in mind rather than discovering it at exam time.

Why it matters commercially

A coding club competes on price and novelty, and both run out. A qualification changes what the parent is buying. It gives them a reason to keep paying past the point where the novelty has gone, and it gives you something no local competitor can quickly reproduce, because accreditation is slow to obtain and is held by the awarding body rather than by us.

It is also why the licence prohibits white labelling. The accreditation attaches to the Robocode programme. Deliver it under another name and the certificate at the end stops meaning anything.
